The Data Engineering team is part of Cloud Technology Group, which delivers cutting-edge cloud and edge networking solutions to the market. We design, implement, deploy, and operate data streaming platforms with a primary mission to enable product teams to develop high-performing, operationally safe, and secure products in an agile manner.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer II, you will:
- Contribute to the design and implementation of highly available, scalable, and performant solutions
- Build, integrate, and support FedRAMP compliance for data streaming services on the Akamai Platform
- Design and develop DevOps tools to make the software delivery system run seamlessly
- Develop processes and tools to monitor, analyze, maintain, and improve streaming data pipelines' usability and observability
- Develop and implement procedures for automating operational tasks to streamline day-to-day work with a focus on FedRAMP and SOX compliance
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have relevant experience and a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science or its equivalent
- Have relevant experience as a system or platform engineer and in creating, maintaining, and migrating REST APIs
- Have experience with SQL and software development using at least 2 out of Golang, Python, Java, C/C++, JavaScript
- Have experience with distributed systems and Linux networking (including TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, HTTP)
- Possess experience with contemporary DevOps practices and CI/CD and need to have eagerness to learn
- Have experience with massive data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, etc), data streaming concepts, and design principles (Data Modeling, Streaming vs Batch processing, Distributed Messaging, etc)
