Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements
About the Position
We are seeking a Software Engineer in Test (SET) for a 6-month contract to join our team in Katowice, Poland, focusing on developing and maintaining automated testing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of test automation: Create, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand features, technical implementations, and testing requirements.
- Testing execution and analysis: Execute both automated and manual tests (functional, non-functional, regression, performance, security), analyze results, and provide detailed reports.
- Integration with development lifecycle: Integrate testing processes into the CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines and Agile methodologies.
- Process improvement: Participate in code reviews, recommend corrective actions, and continuously improve testing practices, tools, and processes.
Requirements
- Programming languages: Knowledge and experience with at least one of OOP languages: C# (preferable), Java, Python; the willingness of programming in C# as main technology required.
- Test tools and frameworks: Experience with test tools, standards, and frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, SpecFlow/Reqnroll, NUnit, Fiddler, HTTP Debugger, etc.
- Cloud and DevOps: Understanding of Cloud computing solutions (AWS, Alibaba), containerization, and virtualization. Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab) and Git.
- Monitoring and reporting: Experience with Grafana and test automation reporting tools (e.g. Allure).
- API knowledge: At least base understanding REST-based and GraphQL API technologies.
Nice to Have
- Performance testing: Experience with performance testing process, performance testing tools (e.g. Nbomber, Jmeter, Locus, K6), tools and techniques for performance measurement, profiling, and optimization.
- Database knowledge: DB basic knowledge (MySQL, Firebird).
- Playwright experience: Playwright experience - big plus.
Qualifications
- Experience: +4 years of experience in test automation or software development.
- Language skills: English communication skills (written & verbal) required.

About the Company
As part of the R&D Department at Altium, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing testing infrastructure along with creating new test frameworks from scratch. You'll be participating in building test platforms to support software engineering. You will be involved in a wide range of automation activities to support the fast development of new features of Altium cloud products. As a Software Engineer, you will work together with an ambitious team of professionals.
