Software Engineering Manager

About the Position

At Cosylab, we are looking for a Software Engineering Manager who will take responsibility for leading multiple senior teams and, through a combination of strong leadership and business thinking, contribute to the stability, efficiency, and growth of the department. Responsibilities

People and Team Leadership

• Take over and stabilize multiple senior teams, establishing clear priorities, responsibilities, and expectations.
• Lead, coach, and develop people through regular 1:1 meetings, feedback, and structured development guidance.
• Optimize resource allocation and reduce the load on other leaders through effective management of capacity, focus, and delivery.
• Build trust through credible collaboration with engineers and consistent leadership driven by results.

Business Responsibilities (Account & Growth)

• Monitor key accounts and business objectives (e.g. revenue, margins, growth/pipeline) and proactively manage activities to achieve results.
• Align next steps with internal stakeholders (e.g. Project Leads, Sales) and contribute to closing opportunities.
• Take ownership beyond “production” work: identify opportunities, show initiative, and focus on business-relevant decision-making.

Requirements

• Proven experience in people leadership and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities.
• Experience in a client-facing and/or delivery environment (services, projects, customer collaboration) with a solid understanding of business priorities.
• Sufficient technical background to engage in credible and constructive dialogue with engineers.

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating developed components and subsystems into larger systems at customer sites, ensuring seamless operation and meeting project requirements.
• Experience working abroad.
