About the Role

The Software Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for delivering training, technical advisory, and assessment services for client projects, while helping ensure the functional safety of client products. The role supports clients in implementing, improving, and demonstrating compliance with international and local standards. This position offers the opportunity to lead and contribute to a broad range of control system safety projects.

You will be expected to support the delivery for a range of services and may have expertise in several areas, including, but not limited to:

  • Conduct training, provide technical advisory services, and perform assessments.
  • Develop functional safety work products and process assets (process, template, guideline, etc.).
  • Lead projects and ensure they are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with client expectations.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with project teams and clients.

Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive industry (OEMs, Suppliers) or at a certification body/company.
  • Hands-on experience in automotive functional safety development in accordance with ISO 26262.
  • Proficiency in practical safety analysis methods, such as HAZOP, FTA, FMEA, and DFA.
  • Certification or experience as an ASPICE assessor.

Preferred:

  • Engineering and development experience based on state-of-the-art practices and relevant industry standards across automotive and other safety-critical sectors (e.g., ISO 21448, ASPICE, ISO/SAE 21434, IEC 61508, ISO 13849, ISO 10218, IEC 62061, ISO 19014, IEC 61513, and EN 50126/50128/50129).
  • Experience in automated driving systems development.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Korean and English.
