Software Test Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Software Test Engineer specializing in JAVA/Python and Selenium to join our Connect Technology team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will lead the development and implementation of automated tests, contributing to the enhancement of our testing processes and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, debug, and enhance applications and create automation frameworks leveraging Playwright/Selenium, Python, SQL as the core development languages.
• Develop and build scalable automation frameworks and test suites working across technologies.
• Develop documents and maintain test plans, procedures, and scripts and perform well-defined product-level integration tests.
• Implement, execute, and debug automated test scripts using various technologies and tools.
• Perform manual testing, the scope of which will encompass all functionalities of services as a prequel to automation.
• Work closely with other quality and development engineers to build, evolve, and maintain a scalable continuous build and deployment pipeline.
• Deploy application components using CI/CD pipelines.
• Build utilities for monitoring and automating repetitive functions.
• Collaborate with Agile cross-functional teams - internal and external clients including Operations, Infrastructure, Tech Ops.
• Research and evaluate a variety of software products and development tools.
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues such as code reviews, testing, and software documentation as required.
• Work with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
• Collaborate with Agile cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of applicable software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals with experience in UI and Services Automation testing, Playwright/Selenium, Python, SQL, Database testing, and Cloud technologies.
• Expertise in testing all layers of web applications, including front end, services, and backend testing.
• Hands-on experience in Test Automation, Creating Automation frameworks, API microservice automation.
• Good experience in backend database testing with Pyspark/Python.
• Strong technical skills in Selenium, TestNG, Python, SQL, and JAVA.
• Must have experience in UI and Services functional validations.
• Must have SQL knowledge.
• Good experience in cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Good experience in performance testing using Load Runner or JMeter.
• Must have experience with DevOps Technologies such as GitHub, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker.
• Good experience in the retail domain.
• In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, life cycle, and processes.
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
• Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface across cross-functional technology teams and the business.
• Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
