About the Position
ELEKS is looking for a Solution Architect located in the UK, Poland, Croatia, or Ukraine.
About the Client
Our client is Europe’s leading health, sport, and leisure group, with more than 140 clubs around the globe. Clubs provide the perfect destinations to stay fit and healthy as a family. Facilities include state-of-the-art gyms, heated indoor and outdoor pools, top-class racquet facilities, well-equipped group exercise studios, and luxurious spas. Several teams are working on the mobile app development/ infrastructure/ support.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of end-to-end solution architecture design aligned with business goals, technical constraints, and quality attributes
- Drive architecture definition by eliciting and analysing business and technical requirements from stakeholders
- Design scalable, reliable, and secure system architectures, including integrations across multiple services, platforms, and external systems
- Define and maintain architecture documentation, including architecture diagrams, decision records, and technical standards
- Lead architectural governance by reviewing design decisions and ensuring alignment with the defined architecture vision
- Provide effort estimates and support pre-sales activities with technical expertise, solution vision, and proposals
- Define implementation roadmaps, technical backlogs, and guide teams during project bootstrap and delivery phases
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure consistent implementation of architectural decisions
- Identify and manage technical risks, trade-offs, and technical debt, ensuring long-term maintainability of solutions
- Create proofs-of-concept (PoCs) and prototypes to validate architectural approaches and solutions
- Mentor and coach technical leaders, developers, and other architects, fostering engineering excellence
- Act as a technical advisor to clients, participating in discussions, workshops, and key decision-making processes
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering with 2+ years in a Solution Architect (or similar) role
- Strong experience in designing distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud-based solutions (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Proven experience in requirements elicitation and translating business needs into technical solutions
- Experience with system integration patterns, APIs, and enterprise application architecture
- Hands-on experience with architecture documentation and modeling tools (e.g., C4 model, UML, ADRs)
- Experience in defining non-functional requirements (scalability, performance, security, reliability)
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment models
- Ability to evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
- Experience with estimation techniques and solution scoping for delivery and pre-sales
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills (both internal teams and customers)
- Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration
- Upper-intermediate High or higher English level
