Tech Stack
Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements
About the Position
We are looking for a Solution Architect/Tech Lead to own the architecture, govern all integration decisions, and lead the team day-to-day. You are the technical authority and delivery anchor for the engagement. You operate full-time from Sprint 0 through Sprint 8. This is a hands-on role. You review code, resolve blockers, write ADRs, define API contracts, and lead the Sprint 0 evaluation of Medusa.js and Lago against an on-prem Kubernetes environment. You are also the person who presents technical decisions to the client and responds to technical challenges in real time.
Work model: Hybrid.
Our client is a full-service telecommunications provider that develops and delivers multimedia and internet services for residential customers. It supplies services to independent cable network operators and utility companies via a fiber-optic backbone and also operates directly as an internet and TV service provider in selected regions.
Responsibilities
- Own the overall solution architecture: service decomposition, integration patterns, event flows, deployment topology, and security boundaries.
- Lead Sprint 0: Medusa.js and Lago evaluation, Kubernetes environment validation, QMC API discovery, CI/CD pipeline establishment, and Definition of Ready / Done.
- Define and govern the API contract layer between new BSS services and QMC - change management, versioning, and integration risk surfacing.
- Review code across all workstreams (frontend, backend, .NET, DevOps). Maintain quality standards.
- Write and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) for all significant technical choices.
- Act as primary technical counterpart to Enterprise Architect at all sprint reviews and architecture sessions.
- Ensure observability is first-class from Sprint 1: OpenTelemetry instrumentation, DataDog dashboards, structured logging, trace propagation.
- Lead the final Walking Skeleton demo in Sprint 8 and the technical handover to the company's Ops.
- Manage technical risk, scope creep, and dependency escalation to the Delivery Lead.
Requirements
- Microservice architecture: 8+ years designing and delivering production microservice systems. API-first design, event-driven integration, decomposition trade-offs.
- Node.js / TypeScript: Hands-on capability. You write, review, and debug backend Node.js code - not just diagrams.
- .NET / C#: Sufficient to evaluate QMC integration complexity, review .NET code, and speak credibly with a.NET-focused client team.
- Kubernetes (on-prem): Production on-prem or self-managed cluster experience. Helm, networking, RBAC, resource management.
- Observability: OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, Prometheus / DataDog. Designs observability in from the start.
- Legacy modernization: Strangler Fig, API facade, event-based decoupling. Experience building around retained systems.
- Client-facing communication: Comfortable presenting architecture to Enterprise Architects and non-engineering stakeholders.
- Agile delivery: Two-week sprint leadership. Definition of Done, acceptance criteria, technical risk management.
- Upper-intermediate level of English.
- Ability to visit the office occasionally.
Nice to Have
- Medusa.js, Lago, or composable commerce / billing platform experience.
- Telco BSS / OSS domain knowledge.
- Swiss or DACH market delivery experience.
- German or French language skills.
We Offer
- Remote work with occasional office visits
- An open, transparent, and fun work culture.
