Job description

About the Position

Are you someone who enjoys being at the intersection of technical and business problems? We are seeking a Solutions Architect who can work with Oxide customers, prospects, and partners to understand their needs and help show how Oxide can address them.

Responsibilities

As a Solutions Architect working at Oxide you will:

  • Work closely with Oxide customers and prospective customers, building deep relationships across their teams, determining their needs, and constructing the appropriate solutions to meet them.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders within customer IT organizations, from executive and organizational leadership through application development, operations, security, architecture, and deployment teams.
  • Develop comprehensive customer deployment plans, including data center facilities prep, network integration, operations tooling, and developer onboarding.
  • Take responsibility for a customer’s success from earliest planning through operational deployment and successful integration with their IT systems and teams.

Requirements

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy seeing technology used to solve business problems - and love filling in the gap between what a technology can do and what a business needs.
  • Have experience in pre-sales roles in either (or ideally, both) on-premises and public cloud deployments.
  • Are intensely curious about different kinds of applications and modalities for customer deployment.
  • Have a disposition towards showing a prototype of what a customer deployment and migration might look like.
  • Enjoy communicating with a variety of audiences, with comfort discussing technical details and business value - and the connections between them.
  • Don’t mind coworkers getting really excited about decades-old computers.

    • Solutions Software Engineering with Matthew Sanabria on our approach to engineering the integration software that customers need.
    • Shipping the first Oxide rack: Your questions answered! on the occasion of shipping our first rack in the summer of 2023.
    • Launching the Cloud Computer on our general availability of the Oxide rack later in 2023.
    • RTO or GTFO on our perspective on the rash of RTO mandates.
    • Reflecting on Founder Mode on the widely-read Paul Graham piece.
