The Project Manager position will be responsible for leading in the Savannah office for the Black & Veatch water solutions business. In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to maintain client relationships with local municipalities, execute projects effectively to meet client's objectives, and achieve financial success.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Serve as Project Manager for the Savannah Infrastructure & Development (I&D) project, providing day-to-day oversight of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Coordinate closely with the client's project representatives to ensure alignment on deliverables and project milestones.
- Lead internal project performance reviews for the Savannah I&D project, proactively identifying and resolving risks, managing change, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout project execution.
- Growth toward more external focus to interact with assigned client, become involved in client activities, and promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities.
Project Execution
- Oversight of engineering managers
- Development of project performance goals
- Accountability for implementation
- Active involvement with internal project team and owner project representatives on project activities
- Perform or assist with the performance and commercial management of projects including budgeting, invoicing, and payments; lead project performance reviews for assigned projects
Business Development
- Through coordination with local and regional leadership, support development of the overall market business plan, market strategies, client engagement strategies, and leverage other Black & Veatch technical and management resources to advance Black & Veatch's market footprint.
- Support local and regional leadership with prospect identification, proposal development, proposal preparation, client presentations, project budgeting, and contracting for successful opportunities.
- Accountable for new business objectives and for overall project performance.
Additional Responsibilities

Savannah Market Growth & Business Development
- With support of local and regional leadership, serve as primary Black & Veatch representative in the Savannah market, cultivating relationships with our clients to expand our service offerings.
- Leverage planning and engineering acumen to help the City of Savannah, BJWSA, and surrounding communities navigate their challenges and opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Savannah region, including team arrangements, RFQ/RFP responses, and sole-source pursuits aligned with Black & Veatch's Integrated Water business (water, wastewater, and stormwater).
- Actively participate in local professional organizations, industry events, and community initiatives to elevate Black & Veatch's visibility and reputation in the Savannah market.
- Collaborate with local and regional and national practice leaders to align Savannah market strategies with broader Black & Veatch growth objectives.

Staff Management & Professional Development
- Provide direct mentorship to Savannah office professionals supporting the City of Savannah and BJWSA, across experience levels, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions with assigned staff to assess career goals, identify development gaps, and co-create individualized professional growth plans.
- Champion the advancement of Savannah-based professionals by making informed recommendations for promotions, stretch assignments, training opportunities, and expanded project responsibilities.
- Actively support recruiting efforts to grow and maintain the Savannah team, including identification of candidates, participation in interviews, and onboarding of new hires.
- Coordinate with Black & Veatch broader training and development programs to ensure Savannah staff have access to technical, project management, and leadership development resources.
- Model and reinforce Black & Veatch quality culture and values within the Savannah office, serving as a visible and accessible leader for the local team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 15+ years program/project management experience, technical experience, and background
- Technical experience in water and wastewater treatment as well as linear infrastructure planning and design: planning & asset management; and other key elements of our clients diverse water needs
- Business development and program/project management experience
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Work Environment
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
