About the Position
Sr. SDE, Machine Learning, Prime Video Personalization and Discovery
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) specializing in Machine Learning to join our Prime Video Personalization and Discovery team. Your role will be pivotal in leveraging state-of-the-art Machine Learning (ML) systems to create deeply personalized recommendations for our Prime Video customers. You will help millions of users discover new content that they didn't even know they were looking for, enhancing their viewing experience.
Responsibilities
- Building Services: Develop services with Tier-1 availability and performance characteristics while enabling Day-1 innovation capabilities.
- Storefront Orchestration: Evolve the Prime Video Storefront orchestration strategy to enable continuous experimentation and feature delivery.
- Solution Extension: Extend solutions to support the constantly evolving landscape of Prime Video, including Live Sports and Linear TV.
- Strategic Vision: Lead and partner in developing the strategic technical vision for the PV Recommendations space.
- Collaboration: Partner with Product, Scientists, and Engineering stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Programming: 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
- Leadership: 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Mentorship: Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
Nice to Have
- Full Software Development Lifecycle: 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
