Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are seeking a Middle-level SRE Engineer with 1-3 years experience in DevOps, GCP, and Kubernetes for a remote position with a product telecommunications company.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with R&D engineers on coordination, communication, and execution of production-related operations.
  • Develop and deploy monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to proactively identify and mitigate operational issues.
  • Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning to optimize system performance and resource utilization for improved user experience.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Incident response and resolution, including root cause analysis and post-mortem reviews.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and methodologies to enhance our infrastructure and operations.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles to document system configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Monitoring Engineer role.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with GitLab CI or similar CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) databases.
  • Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing tools like Grafana Tempo or Jaeger.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, etc.).
