Staff Security Product and Application Engineer

Join Criteo's Application & Product Security team as a Staff Security Product and Application Engineer in Paris, France. This role combines technical expertise, engineering execution, and cross-functional collaboration to help secure the products we build and operate.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Platform teams to design and build secure systems and services
• Act as a trusted security advisor, guiding teams on secure design, threat modelling, and vulnerability management
• Identify, assess, prioritize, and help remediate application security risks across the organization
• Contribute hands-on to security initiatives, including architecture reviews, security tooling, automation, and incident response activities
• Help define and evolve security standards, best practices, and KPIs to continuously improve the security posture of your domain
• Drive the adoption of security-by-design and shift-left security practices throughout the software development lifecycle
• Lead complex technical projects and security initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders across multiple teams
• Support security awareness efforts by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and promoting secure engineering practices across the organization
• Collaborate with Security, Product, and Platform teams to improve security processes, tooling, and operational excellence

Requirements

• Experience in Security Engineering or significant contribution to application or product security initiatives
• Background in Product Engineering or SRE / Platform Engineering with a strong understanding of modern software development practices
• Experience leading complex technical projects and driving cross-functional initiatives in large-scale environments
• Comfortable acting as a subject matter expert on security topics and advising teams on risks, trade-offs, and best practices
• Experience securing distributed systems, cloud-native environments, and modern application architectures
• Enjoy combining hands-on engineering, problem-solving, and technical leadership
• Influence without authority, building trust and alignment across diverse stakeholders and teams
• Demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, and sound judgement when handling sensitive security topics
• Passionate about improving security through scalable solutions, automation, and collaboration
