Staff Software Engineer (Booking Integrations)
Primary stack
Job description
About the Position
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer (Booking Integrations) to join our fast-scaling travel startup, Kilo. This role is ideal for a builder who is excited to design, build, and own integrations with third-party booking systems, and help shape the product as the company scales.
About the Team
Breakneck Studio is an incubator and accelerator that scales digital and e-commerce brands at high velocity. This is where you get hands-on, zero-to-scale experience you won't find in a regular job.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own integrations with third-party booking systems.
- Architect the webhook ingestion and worker queue infrastructure.
- Design database schemas in Supabase (PostgreSQL).
- Build sandbox and testing environments.
- Load test and harden services.
- Ensure secure handling of credentials and traveler data.
- Help evolve our TypeScript, Supabase, and TanStack MVP into a scalable platform.
- Work directly with the founder and early team to decide which integrations matter most.
- Set the engineering standards, patterns, and practices for the team.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Deep experience in Authentication & Identity and Backend Software Engineering (PostgreSQL, PHP/Laravel, Node.js/TypeScript).
- Expert-level understanding of API authentication across many integration styles.
- Proven experience designing secure, scalable webhook systems.
- Hands-on experience building asynchronous job processing.
- Experience integrating with a wide variety of third-party systems.
- Secure handling of credentials and secrets at scale.
- Strong TypeScript skills.
- Solid grasp of engineering best practices, automation, and observability.
- Comfortable in an agile, collaborative environment.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and providing technical leadership.
We Offer
- Competitive gross salary range of 6000-8000 EUR/month + stock options (ESOP).
- Health insurance (after probation), on-site physiotherapist, office gym, and fitness classes.
- 7 extra days off, 3 for weddings, hybrid work, and the freedom to work 2 months from anywhere in the world.
- Pet-friendly office, fresh breakfasts, hot lunches, and stocked drawers and fridges.
- Rooftop and cellar events, 10 social clubs, and a public transport card for Vilnius.
- €1000 yearly budget for personal or team growth.
- €1500 for every successful referral.
Location
Vilnius, Lithuania (Hybrid model: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote). Other locations include Klaipėda, Lithuania, and Riga, Latvia.
About the Company
Kilo is a generational traveltech company looking to disrupt the sleepy industry. We are two-sided: travelers get a consumer product that helps them plan and book trips, and advisors get a SaaS-style subscription with certification and qualified leads in the offer.
