About Our Product & Tech Department

Our mission is to digitize the classic shopping stroll, turning it into a personalized, inspiring experience for every customer. Technology and data sit at the center of everything we build. We are not a fashion company with a tech team on the side. Tech drives our product, our strategy, and our growth.

Our proprietary tech stack powers our own shops and SCAYLE, our commerce infrastructure solution that serves over 350 brands globally. Same foundation, bigger stage. The challenges keep things interesting.

What To Expect

Data Platform Ownership

  • Build, maintain, and drive the transition to our new Data Platform (Dagster, dbt, AWS ECS, and GCP GBQ).
  • Develop a product that acts as a foundation for other data teams, improving their efficiency through custom-made tooling, monitoring, data-checks, connectors, cost controlling, testing, CI/CD, cataloging, etc.

Core-ELT Pipelines

  • Maintain and optimize the biggest and most fundamental pipelines in the company.
  • Responsible for moving terabytes of data from MySQL in AWS to GBQ nightly, including daytime syncs that strictly avoid impacting source system performance.

Core-Reports Delivery

  • Take responsibility for the most critical reports in the company, which serve as the foundation for executive board decisions and act as a base for data teams in other departments.

Who You Are

  • Experience:

    • Substantial, hands-on experience in Data Engineering and Software Engineering, particularly with high-volume, business-critical pipelines.
    • Experience maintaining and building modern data platforms and acting as a multiplier for other engineering teams.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Deep, practical experience with our target stack: Dagster, dbt, Google BigQuery (GBQ), and AWS (ECS).
    • Strong software engineering fundamentals (CI/CD, testing, best practices, design patterns) applied to data engineering.
    • Expert-level SQL and Python skills.
    • Knowledge of infrastructure setups (docker, terraform/cloudformation).
  • Soft Skills:

    • Pragmatic Excellence: You have a smart, fast brain and know data engineering best practices inside out, but you possess the pragmatism to know when to implement them and when to ship.
    • Ego-less Collaboration: You leave your ego at the door. You bring high energy, clarity, and a team-first mindset to every discussion.
    • Strong Communication: Ability to grasp complex processes easily, communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, and business fluent in English.
