About the Position

At the Innovation Direction, we conduct research projects on wide and multi-sector experimentation fields.

These innovative projects, developed in teams, are supervised by our experts within the ALTEN Labs (IDF, Toulouse, Grenoble, Rennes, and Sophia Antipolis), and aim to address our clients' challenges by providing them with original and disruptive technological solutions.

Within our Lab de Sèvres, you will be accompanied by an Innovation Pilot (Project Manager) to help you develop your skills on the activities of one of the following projects (several internships available).

Project: AI for Media Analysis

E-Sports is experiencing exponential growth, and professional teams seek to optimize not only their game strategies but also their communication and stress management. During tournaments or training sessions (scrims), several players exchange simultaneously, sometimes in multiple languages, making it difficult to identify speakers and analyze interactions. Understanding these exchanges helps to better understand the differences between training and official matches, evaluate individual stress, and provide mental preparation tips.

Project: Development of a Graph Retrieval-Augmented Generation (Graph RAG) System for the Aerospace Sector

The project aims to apply the emerging trend of Graph RAG to the Aerospace field. It hopes to do so by applying the established techniques behind RAG to bespoke knowledge graphs describing various Aerospace domains.

The objective of this internship is to finalize and industrialize the architecture of our aerospace question-answering pipeline. The intern's mission will be to overcome the project's final technical bottlenecks (latency, indexing costs, and lack of source traceability) to deliver an autonomous, industrial-grade interactive demonstrator.

A high-level long-term goal is for this project to serve as a blueprint for how RAG and LLMs more generally could be applied within the Aerospace sector to many more aspects of their workflows.

Responsibilities

• Explore eSport videos to understand formats and audio quality
• Explore datasets from eSports statistics
• Prepare an adapted dataset: audio extraction, segmentation, metadata organization
• Actively participate in the annotation phase, especially for player identification and transcription validation
• Develop a method based on Deep Learning to differentiate voices even in case of superposition
• Develop analysis methods based on Machine Learning and Deep Learning to analyze eSports team matches
• Manage multilingual and varied conversations
• Develop data pipelines
• Transcribe exchanges
• Perform various analyses of transcriptions: thematic, summary, volume, frequency, speed, stress level, and unusual remarks

Requirements

• You are a final-year Engineering School student looking for a final-year internship and have specialized in Generative Artificial Intelligence and/or Data Science.
• You have knowledge in deep learning (Deep Learning) and image/video processing or machine learning, natural language processing, and skills in semantic vector search.
• You are proficient in implementing generative AI methods and programming in Python with libraries such as Pytorch and Tensorflow, which you have applied during your training.

Reactive, rigorous, autonomous, and with a sense of service, you wish to evolve in a challenging environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the Aerospace sector
• Knowledge of Graph RAG systems
