Job description
Stage Innovation : Ingénieur Robotique / Intelligence Artificielle
- Type: Intern
- Location: Grenoble, France
- Salary: Up to EUR 1200 per month
About the Position
At the Innovation Direction, we conduct research projects on broad and multi-sectoral fields of experimentation.
These innovative projects, developed in teams, are supervised by our experts within the ALTEN Labs (IDF, Toulouse, Grenoble, Rennes, and Sophia Antipolis), and aim to address our clients' challenges by providing them with original and disruptive technological solutions.
Within our Grenoble Lab, you will be accompanied by an Innovation Pilot (Project Manager) to help you develop your skills on the activities of one of the following projects (multiple internships available).
Projects
Project: Simulation of Maritime Combat Environment
As part of a collaborative R&D project with a defense sector partner, ALTEN is participating in the development of an advanced maritime combat environment simulator. This project aims to model complex scenarios involving autonomous vehicles (UAV, USV, UUV) in realistic conditions, using tools such as Xdyn, Gazebo, and Unity.
Project: Heterogeneous and Versatile Robotic Fleet
You will be working in a research environment within a scientific project that deals with the collaboration of heterogeneous robots (aerial drones, boats, robotic arms, hexapods, land vehicles, etc.) in a simulated environment.
The internship will notably be divided into two parts:
- Contribution to the development of the 3D simulated environment under Isaac Sim. Adding new robots to the simulated fleet, with control of robots using ROS2.
- Scientific study on Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning in the context of heterogeneous robot collaboration. Your experimentation phases will notably rely on the use of the simulated environment and the use of Isaac Lab software.
In each of these two parts, you will be required to write technical and scientific documentation.
Qualifications
You are a student in the final year of an Engineering School or a Master's degree, specialized in Robotics, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, or Simulation.
You are proficient in software development (Python, C++) and have practical experience with robotic simulation tools such as Gazebo, ROS/ROS2, and Unity. Knowledge of dynamics frameworks (Xdyn) or maritime simulation environments would be an asset.
Experience in 3D modeling, integration of virtual sensors, or development of autonomous navigation algorithms (SLAM, trajectory planning) is highly appreciated.
Skills in mathematical modeling (fluid dynamics, solid mechanics) or implementation of virtual/physical sensors will be particularly valued, especially to enrich the accuracy of simulations and the integration of new physical models.
For the second project, knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and/or Reinforcement Learning will be highly appreciated. Similarly, skills in Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab will be an asset.
Responsive, rigorous, autonomous, and with a sense of service, you wish to evolve in a challenging environment.
