About the Position

HOMMEL ETAMIC is an independent brand within the Jenoptik Group. As a leading manufacturer and system supplier, HOMMEL ETAMIC offers a broad portfolio of measurement technology for manufacturing processes. We are currently seeking a Standard Service Technician to join our team in Auburn Hills, MI, US.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, calibrate, maintain, and repair our measuring systems
• Train customers in the operation, programming, and maintenance of our measuring systems
• Program and run-off customer-specific applications
• Troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems
• Perform periodic maintenance and calibrations of our measuring systems in customer facilities throughout North America and internationally
• Abide by all company policies and procedures
• Complete daily time tracking and reporting
• Complete daily expense tracking and reporting
• Work to a budget

Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to changing work schedules
• Up to 90% travel
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record provided annually
• Able to obtain a passport
• Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Team player
• Excellent time-management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to read blueprints and electrical schematics
• Knowledge of geometric tolerances (GD&T)
• Accustomed to using mobile tools and applications
• Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Understanding of installing software, hardware, and drivers on computer systems
• Background in the manufacturing industry - metrology experience a definite advantage
• Strong analytical skills
• Electromechanical aptitude
• U.S. Citizenship or qualified U.S. worker

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma / GED required. Technical diploma in mechatronics, manufacturing methods, or similar is preferred, college preferred
• 3 – 5 years of industrial/manufacturing experience
• Experience in a customer support role a definite advantage
