About the Position

Łukasiewicz – Instytut Przemysłu Organicznego is seeking a Starszy Specjalista ds. analityki instrumentalnej (k/m/n) to join our research team in Warsaw, Poland. We focus on developing and validating analytical methods for the chemical, pharmaceutical, defense, and mining industries. Our research includes creating technologies for producing biologically active substances, plant protection products, biocides, and veterinary medicines, as well as explosives and their applications. We also conduct comprehensive environmental and process safety work in the chemical industry and have accredited research laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Operation and supervision of analytical equipment such as ICP-MS and GC-MS/MS.
• Development, optimization, and implementation of analytical methods using ICP-MS and GC-MS/MS techniques.
• Validation and verification of analytical methods in accordance with applicable standards and quality system requirements.
• Preparation of samples for instrumental analysis in compliance with applicable procedures.
• Conducting laboratory analyses and interpreting and developing research results.
• Maintaining analytical and research documentation in accordance with the applicable quality system.
• Collaborating on the implementation, calibration, qualification, and ongoing operation of laboratory equipment.
• Participating in the execution of research and development projects and tasks commissioned by external entities.
• Supporting the development of new research services and analytical competencies of the laboratory.
• Preparing reports, summaries, and subject materials related to laboratory activities.

Requirements

Obligatory Requirements:

• Higher education in chemistry, geochemistry, biology, biotechnology, or related fields.
• Experience working with ICP-MS and/or GC-MS/MS techniques (preferably in an analytical or research laboratory).
• Knowledge of the principles of validation and quality assurance of analytical methods.
• Ability to develop procedures and interpret measurement results.
• Ability to prepare reports and maintain research documentation.
• Ability to manage a team.
• English language proficiency at B1/B2 level.

Additional Requirements (minimum 2 of the following):

• Participation in at least 2 scientific or industry conferences (e.g., presentation, poster, participation in a panel discussion).
• Experience in conducting research and development projects (participation in at least 2 R&D projects, including those under subsidies, targeted grants, and commissioned tasks), including documented independent execution of part of the work.
• Collaboration with the commercial sector in implementing research results, e.g., active participation in projects aimed at commercialization.
• Authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications (minimum 3 publications indexed, including at least 1 in the TOP10% SCOPUS list), 2 industry reports, or 2 analyses significant for the development of the institute's research directions.
