About the Role
Storyous helps local businesses manage their daily operations. To do this, we need to develop quality partnerships with technology, business, and industry partners, while ensuring that our integrations bring real value to customers and the company.
We are looking for someone to take full responsibility for two interconnected areas:
-
Integrations: Managing and developing the integration portfolio, collaborating with technology partners, and leading new integration initiatives from idea to stable operation.
-
Partnerships: Finding, negotiating, and developing partnerships that will help Storyous reach more relevant customers and expand the value of our product.
This is not a role where someone merely passes on requirements. You will own the outcome: you will understand the business opportunity, evaluate its potential, propose a cooperation model, negotiate terms, ensure implementation, drive necessary changes across the company, and subsequently measure whether the initiative delivers the expected value.
Your Mission
To build and manage a portfolio of integrations and partnerships that:
-
Increases the value of Storyous for customers;
-
Supports business results growth and new customer acquisition;
-
Creates new distribution and business opportunities;
-
Improves product offerings and user experience;
-
Has a clear purpose, accountability, measurable goals, and a sustainable operational model.
Responsibilities
1. Ownership of the Integration Portfolio
-
Take ownership of existing and new Storyous integrations.
-
Map their business purpose, technical and operational status, involved teams, costs, benefits, and biggest risks.
-
Set a clear lifecycle for integrations from initial assessment through implementation and deployment to long-term evaluation.
-
Be the main contact for key technology partners.
-
Ensure that integrations are not only technically functional but also understandable, commercially viable, and sustainable in the long term.
-
Work with Product, Engineering, and Operations to find opportunities for standardization, automation, and support simplification.
2. Finding and Developing Partnerships
-
Create a partnership strategy in line with Storyous priorities.
-
Actively seek new opportunities among relevant companies, experts, distribution channels, and other entities related to the target segment.
-
Map where the partner has a business motivation to recommend, sell, integrate, or jointly offer to customers.
-
Lead the entire process from partner identification and qualification through proposal and negotiation to onboarding, launch, and further development.
-
Propose a suitable cooperation model according to the specific opportunity - for example, referral, reseller, co-selling, joint offer, or strategic partnership.
-
Look for ways to translate partnership relationships into concrete business impact, not just the number of signed contracts.
3. Business Case, Economics, and Negotiation
-
Prepare a business case for significant initiatives based on available data and realistic assumptions.
-
Assess potential business benefits, costs, internal team capacity, operational demands, and main risks.
-
Propose business terms and economic model for integrations and partnerships in collaboration with relevant teams.
-
Lead negotiations on business model, responsibilities, support, data, and operational conditions, as well as other key topics.
-
Prepare decision-making materials for leadership and be able to recommend whether to implement, adjust, pilot, or postpone an initiative.
4. Product and Engineering Enablement
-
Translate business needs into a clear product and technical specification.
-
Understand the principles of integrations and product development well enough to lead a qualified discussion with internal and external technical stakeholders.
-
Ensure that requirements have a clear purpose, scope, expected benefit, priority, and owner.
-
If Product or Engineering capacity is needed for implementation, take responsibility for advocating for priority and aligning stakeholders.
-
Ensure that new initiatives have an appropriate level of standardization, repeatability, and long-term sustainability.
-
Ensure onboarding, documentation, support, results measurement, and operational readiness before going live.
5. Go-to-Market and Adoption
-
In collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, and Product, create a plan for launching relevant integrations and partnerships.
-
Prepare value proposition, business rationale, qualification criteria, and materials for internal teams and partners.
-
Ensure that the partner understands Storyous' offer, target customers, and how to pass on opportunities.
-
Monitor not only the number of activated partners but primarily their actual usage and business impact.
-
Identify barriers in the onboarding process and remove them in collaboration with internal teams and partners.
6. Reporting, Governance, and Continuous Improvement
-
Set up regular reporting on the integration and partnership portfolio for management.
-
Monitor pipeline development, business results, activation, usage, costs, benefits, and operational quality.
-
Establish regular business reviews with key partners.
-
Maintain a clear record of contracts, owners, business terms, operational status, and other key information.
-
Continuously evaluate which integrations and partnerships to develop, standardize, renegotiate, or terminate.
Decision-Making Authority and Accountability
We expect real ownership from this role, not just coordination. You will be responsible for ensuring that:
-
Each priority initiative has a clear goal, business case, scope, and success metric;
-
Partnerships are economically meaningful and have clearly defined responsibilities;
-
Technical and product requirements are understandable and prioritized appropriately;
-
Internal stakeholders are informed in a timely manner, and decisions are followed through;
-
Problems are resolved directly and promptly, including escalation to the appropriate level;
-
Results are measured and potentially corrected after implementation.
You will function as a senior individual contributor: without the need for a large team under you, but with sufficient influence and authority to manage complex initiatives across Commercial, Product, Engineering, Operations, Customer Care, Finance, and Legal.
Success Metrics
After 6–12 months, you will have:
-
A transparent overview of the integration portfolio and a clear plan for its development;
-
A prioritized pipeline of new integrations and partnerships with quality business cases;
-
New partnership opportunities that generate relevant business results;
-
An established process from initial assessment to implementation and subsequent results measurement;
-
Functional performance reporting for partnerships and integrations;
-
Fewer ad-hoc escalations thanks to clear owners, documentation, and operational processes;
-
Demonstrable impact on customer acquisition, revenue, retention, or product value.
Specific goals and KPIs will be set according to Storyous priorities in a given period. They may include, in particular:
-
Quality and development of the partnership pipeline;
-
Number and quality of leads from the partner channel;
-
Business results and return on selected initiatives;
-
Activation and usage of integrations;
-
Speed of implementation of priority initiatives;
-
Quality of operations, support, and satisfaction of customers and partners.
Requirements
Experience and Expertise
-
Several years of experience in business development, partnerships, B2B sales, product partnerships, platform business, or a similar complex role.
-
Proven experience in managing partnerships from initial contact to long-term operation.
-
Experience in negotiating business terms and the ability to prepare and defend a business case.
-
Practical experience in project management and coordinating multiple teams without direct management authority.
-
Ability to work with data, spreadsheets, and financial models.
-
Basic technical understanding of integrations and product development. You don't have to be a developer, but you must be able to understand, analyze, and follow through on technical topics.
-
Experience in fintech, SaaS, payments, hospitality, retail, or a similar environment is an advantage.
Personality and Work Style
-
You are independent, proactive, and able to create your own work plan.
-
You think commercially but make decisions based on data and ROI.
-
You can be consistent and sufficiently "pushy" when a project needs to move forward.
-
You can lead negotiations with external partners and internally push through necessary decisions.
-
You can work with ambiguity, break down complex problems into specific steps, and follow things through to the end.
-
You communicate clearly, factually, and adapt your style to different stakeholders.
-
You don't wait for someone to hand you a finished process - you can design, implement, and continuously improve it.
