🚀 About the Role

A Business Data Scientist is a profile that is supported by three fundamental components: solid programming skills, data analysis and statistics fundamentals, and business empathy. These components, together with analytical thinking and problem-solving ability, allow you to tackle real-world problems leveraging data. A business data scientist is someone who has a great interest in solving business problems with various data world techniques, choosing the most suitable one according to the problem and the solution that best resolves the client's and end-user's pain point.

The Business Data Scientist will be the protagonist of the entire process of a Data Science solution, which can be implemented in a wide variety of functions or industries: data analysis, development of traditional ML models, or development of customized agentic solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in understanding the client's business requirements and help translate them into data analysis actions.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to understand data behavior and extract insights.
• Manipulate datasets to perform cleaning, transformation, and integration operations so they can be used as input for ML model or other analysis.
• Use ML techniques/algorithms to obtain and experiment with predictive models aimed at generating value in client processes.
• Develop agentic systems that combine LLMs, tools, and skills to support the business and generate value and productivity.
• Present results both internally and to clients with visually appealing presentations.
• Lead a team of junior profiles, dividing tasks, making modeling decisions, and being a technical reference for the team.
• Interpret client requirements to estimate the time and effort required for task development, considering available data and the impact on the existing model.

Requirements

Must Have:

• Solid programming skills in languages oriented to Data Science, mainly Python. Experience in other languages such as R, Java, etc, is also valued. (Mandatory)
• Knowledge of LLMs, agents, and at least one tool for implementing agentic solutions (either no/low code like Copilot Studio -not Copilot 365- or code-based, like Langchain) (Mandatory)
• Mastery of SQL and its application in common engines such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, etc. (Mandatory)
• Mastery of the Python Data Science stack, which includes common libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, Scipy, among others, for data analysis and cleaning. (Mandatory)
• Knowledge of ML (supervised and unsupervised learning) and libraries like scikit-learn, lightgbm (Mandatory)
• Fundamentals of descriptive and inferential statistics.
• Knowledge of AI tools for code development, such as Codex or Claude Code.
• Business knowledge, understanding roles, stakeholders, relevant metrics, and processes of at least one function (such as Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, or Human Resources) or industry.
• Proficiency in Office Suite.
• English at a Professional level.
• Ability to present results.

Nice To Have

• Knowledge of analytics platforms like Databricks, Synapse, AzureML, VertexAI.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as Azure, GCP, AWS.
• Knowledge of API development (FastAPI).
• Knowledge of RPA tools (e.g., Power Automate).
