About the Position

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is one of the world's leading organizations for application-oriented research. The »Quantum Machine Learning« team at Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO in Stuttgart conducts research on quantum computing-based data processing and develops machine learning methods in support of quantum technologies. To ensure the smooth operation of our Quantum Lab, we are looking for a reliable Student Assistant for IT Administration.

Be part of change

Administer the IT environment of the Quantum Lab, including Windows Server and Active Directory, local user accounts, mini-PCs, and displays used for teaching and demonstrations.
Prepare the lab for training programs, workshops, and visits by setting up user accounts, devices, and software according to the requirements of each event.
Apply security patches, carry out maintenance tasks, keep all lab systems up to date and compliant, and coordinate the necessary steps with the team and the respective device holders.
Maintain the inventory of lab devices and assets and support the associated documentation and asset management processes.
Provide first-level technical support to trainers and colleagues before and during events held in the Quantum Lab.

Requirements

Enrolled student in computer science, information technology, business informatics, or a related field.
Solid practical knowledge of Windows environments and a basic understanding of networks and user administration.
First experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, or device management is an advantage.
Reliable, structured, and careful work approach.
Good English skills; German language skills are an advantage.
Interest in quantum computing and in supporting its presentation to students, companies, and visitors.
