About the Position
Sustainability & Utility Manager
British American Tobacco (BAT), a global leader in the tobacco industry, is seeking a Sustainability & Utility Manager in Malmö, Sweden. This role is pivotal in driving our commitment to sustainability and ensuring compliance with international and local standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with EHS, sustainability, energy, and utility regulations.
- Lead and develop the Sustainability & Utility team.
- Oversee accurate reporting and incident management.
- Drive risk assessments, safety procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as the Sustainability (SUST) pillar lead.
- Manage and ensure compliance with EHS frameworks and programs.
- Lead and support projects related to EHS, sustainability, and utilities.
- Coordinate audits and inspections with external bodies and suppliers.
- Manage budget (OPEX), contracts, and documentation within the function.
- Promote sustainable energy use and innovation across the organization.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, EHS, or utilities.
- University degree in sustainability, construction, EHS, or a similar field.
- Strong knowledge of EHS, sustainability, and utility regulations.
- Solid understanding of industrial/manufacturing environments.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to drive improvement initiatives and change management.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Fluency in Swedish and English.
- Proactive, results-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- High adaptability, autonomy, and coaching/influencing ability.
