About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Systeembeheerder/-analist to manage and secure our ICT infrastructure in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.

About the Role

You will work in the Systems Administration section of the ICT department at Provincie West-Vlaanderen in Brugge. The department also includes a Project Management section and a staff and support cell. You will work alongside other systems administrators and analysts, reporting to the section head. The section is responsible for the technical management of the ICT infrastructure for the Province of West-Vlaanderen. Within the section, you will be part of the 3rd line team, focusing on the data center, data communication, and security. The environment is hybrid, encompassing both cloud and on-premise components. You will stay updated on market developments and technological innovations, assess their impact, and advise on an approach for the organization. You will implement solutions yourself or assist external parties in doing so.

Responsibilities

• Configuration of data communication devices: routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls.
  • TCP/IP, IPv4/6
  • L2/3 switching & routing, VLAN’s, BGP, VRRP…
  • LDAP/Radius/Tacacs
  • VoIP, SIP, PoE
• Network security management, monitoring, and improvement.
  • Antimalware
  • Intrusion detection
• Network management and maintenance:
  • Internal and external (provider) side
  • Administrative network and IoT network
  • Wired (copper/fiber) and wireless
  • VPN access
• Data center management (compute & storage):
  • Virtualization (servers/desktops)
  • Disaster recovery, business continuity
  • Backup, restore, replication
  • NAS/SAN
• Advising on cloud and XaaS systems
• Conceptualizing sustainable solutions in ICT architecture
• Monitoring and performing installations and scheduled maintenance during the monthly maintenance window
• Collaborating with and guiding internal ICT staff and external installers/suppliers
• Setting up/guiding POCs for researching new solutions to be implemented
• Resolving complex incidents/problems/changes
• Monitoring/optimizing ITIL processes:
  • Problem management
  • Change management
  • Keeping CIs and CMDB up-to-date for the assets under your management
• General monitoring of the ICT infrastructure: analysis, capacity control, management, and planning
• Documenting the processes and systems under your management
