System Administrator

About the Position

We are looking for a System Administrator to join our Systems & Computing team, responsible for managing and operating virtualized infrastructure, Windows Server environments, and Microsoft Azure platforms. The role requires strong technical expertise, autonomous troubleshooting skills, and a proactive approach to infrastructure optimization and security.

Responsibilities

• Administer and operate virtualized infrastructure (VMware / Hyper-V).
• Manage the lifecycle of virtual machines.
• Administer Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs).
• Operate and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
• Support the management of critical application platforms.
• Monitor, analyze, and resolve incidents in production environments.
• Participate in capacity planning and resource optimization activities.
• Implement security best practices and hardening measures.
• Execute upgrades, patches, and planned maintenance.
• Collaborate with vendors and technology partners.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Contribute actively to continuous improvement of infrastructure and processes.

Requirements (Mandatory)

• Proven experience as a System Administrator (mid-level profile).
• Practical experience with VMware / Hyper-V / Azure Local environments.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Solid networking knowledge.
• Experience in Microsoft environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Ability to perform autonomous troubleshooting in production environments.
• Experience with scripting.
• Experience with containers (e.g., Microsoft AKS).
• Proven professional experience in the Portuguese market, knowledge of national business and regulatory context, and legal status that allows immediate and continuous work in Portugal.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Exposure to containerized environments.
• Experience with enterprise application platforms.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
• Experience in critical or regulated environments.
• Awareness of information security topics.
