About the Position
We are seeking a System Engineer with expertise in PowerShell scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and Microsoft SQL to join our team in Zurich, Switzerland.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation solutions for deployment, configuration, and management of applications and infrastructure.
- Oversee and execute deployment activities, including release management, mass data uploads/mutations, and verification of rollout schedules.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for application and infrastructure incidents, troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize business disruption.
- Collaborate with engineers, developers, product managers, designers, testers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, coordinate deployments, and deliver new features.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize technical systems, including OnPrem Microsoft servers and Azure-based environments.
- Plan and execute major software upgrades and technology rollouts in sensitive and regulated environments.
- Manage and review SQL queries, perform data analysis, and generate reports and statistics for stakeholders.
- Document deployment processes, scripts, and best practices to support knowledge sharing, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Participate in projects, roadmap planning, and the integration of new technologies and applications.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements related to deployment and system management.
- Identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities in applications, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.
- Prepare and implement solutions for vulnerability resolution, ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.
- Respond promptly to critical vulnerabilities, coordinating immediate mitigation actions to protect systems and data.
- Collaborate with security teams to monitor, report, and document vulnerability management activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security threats, vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements relevant to the technology landscape.
- Utilize monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, BigPanda, Splunk) to track system health, performance, and deployment activities.
- Set up, configure, and maintain dashboards and alerts to ensure timely detection and resolution of incidents and anomalies.
- Analyze monitoring data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate monitoring solutions into deployment and automation workflows.
Requirements

Must have
- Proven experience with PowerShell scripting and automation for deployment and system management.
- Strong understanding of deployment processes, CI/CD pipelines, and related tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git).
- Experience with Windows Server environments, application hosting, and OnPrem/Cloud hybrid architectures.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and tools (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible).
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL: writing, reviewing, and optimizing queries.
- Experience with application integration, archive system integration, and maintenance of enterprise applications (e.g., Finastra).
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and incident management skills.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global, cross-functional team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their deployment models.
- Certification in Microsoft technologies, DevOps, or cloud practices.
- Experience with project planning, roadmap development, and major upgrade coordination.
