About the Position
Our client is a leading European defense company that, in partnership with a Ukrainian organization, delivers innovative solutions for the aerospace, defense, security, and digital technology sectors. Their products and systems support critical missions and advanced technological capabilities worldwide.
We are currently looking for a System Administrator who will be responsible for the stable operation, development, and optimization of the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring effective management of servers, networks, users, and IT assets, as well as coordinating procurement, budgeting, and software standardization processes to support uninterrupted business operations. This role is focused on the operational management of the IT environment.
Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Installing, updating, and patching operating systems (Windows) and application software.
- Infrastructure Management: Managing servers, routers, switches, and network security (firewalls).
- User Management: Creating, managing, and deleting user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Liaising with the Group’s central IT department regarding the integration of local systems into the global infrastructure, participating in joint technical meetings, and sharing best practices.
- Troubleshooting: Providing technical support to resolve server, network, or hardware failures.
- Security & Backups: Implementing security measures, data protection, and ensuring regular backups.
- IT Budgeting (OPEX/CAPEX): Planning and controlling operational and capital IT expenditures.
- Procurement of Hardware and Software: Selecting, purchasing, and managing IT equipment and software licenses.
- IT Asset Management and Inventory: Tracking, controlling, and optimizing the use of IT resources and equipment.
- Software Installation and Standardization on Workstations: Installing software and ensuring standardized configurations across user computers.
Requirements
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in OS administration (Windows), network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).
- Hardware Knowledge: Experience with server hardware, storage systems, and networking equipment.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose complex system issues.
- Language Skills: Upper-Intermediate English level for communication with international partners.
