About the Position

We are seeking a Systems Engineer with 5+ years of experience to support the development and integration of complex technology-driven products. You'll work across the systems lifecycle, ensuring requirements are defined, integrated, verified, and delivered successfully within a highly collaborative engineering environment.

Location: Plymouth

On-site Requirement: 3 Days Per Week

Security Clearance: Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain SC clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Define, manage, and maintain system requirements throughout development.
  • Support system integration activities across hardware and software domains.
  • Develop verification and validation strategies and execute associated activities.
  • Analyse system performance and investigate technical issues.
  • Support stakeholder reviews, requirements capture, and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to system design and lifecycle engineering activities.

Requirements

Required Skills

  • Proven experience applying systems engineering principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience capturing, managing, and tracing requirements within a requirements-driven engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, verification, and validation activities.
  • Experience supporting hardware and software integration across complex systems.
  • Ability to analyse technical requirements, system performance, and engineering risks.

Soft Skills & Collaboration

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or relevant technical military background with equivalent experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience integrating sensor-based systems within complex products.
  • Knowledge of real-time systems and data acquisition environments.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Exposure to model-based systems engineering approaches.
