Systems Engineer Space

About the Position

As a Systems Engineer in the space sector, you will join our engineering team in Stevenage. This role involves supporting our activities within the space sector, contributing to the development and delivery of complex engineering systems, and working across the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements capture through to verification and validation.

Responsibilities

• Support systems engineering activities across the full engineering lifecycle.
• Capture, define, and manage system and subsystem requirements.
• Support system architecture, design, and integration activities.
• Manage requirements traceability, verification, and validation activities.
• Produce and maintain systems engineering documentation and technical reports.
• Support technical reviews and engineering governance activities.
• Use requirements management tools to maintain accurate and traceable engineering baselines.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful system delivery.
• Support technical investigations, problem-solving activities, and the resolution of system-level issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.

Requirements

Required Skills:

• Experience applying systems engineering principles within complex engineering environments.
• Requirements capture, management, and traceability experience.
• Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle.
• Experience supporting verification and validation activities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Significant experience within Systems Engineering, ideally within aerospace, space, defence, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience working on complex engineering projects across the system lifecycle.
• Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain SC clearance.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience using IBM DOORS or similar requirements management tools.
• Experience using MATLAB for modelling, analysis, or engineering activities.
• Experience using Python for automation, analysis, or engineering applications.
• Knowledge of system integration, verification, and validation processes.
• Previous experience within the aerospace, defence, or space sectors.
