Tech Lead / Senior Software Engineer | Python, React, AWS

About the Position

We’re looking for a senior engineer who enjoys taking ownership of complex technical work, shaping solutions, and staying hands-on.

You’ll work across an AI-focused R&D portfolio, helping turn research and product ideas into reliable, production-ready systems. The role sits at the intersection of engineering, cloud infrastructure and AI/ML, with plenty of scope to influence technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production applications using Python and React
• Shape technical solutions across backend, frontend and cloud environments
• Work with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL and APIs
• Take projects from early-stage concepts through to production
• Collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers, scientists and product teams
• Contribute to architecture, engineering standards and reusable technical foundations
• Lead technical discussions, support other engineers and make pragmatic engineering decisions
• Step into a Tech Lead role when a project needs it

Requirements

• Strong commercial software engineering experience, ideally 10+ years
• Solid hands-on experience with Python and React
• Good experience with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: testing, clean code, code review and CI/CD
• Experience taking systems from prototype or early-stage development into production
• Comfortable working in technically complex environments with evolving requirements
• Able to communicate technical trade-offs clearly and work across different teams

• Kubernetes / Helm, Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• PostgreSQL
• TypeScript / Node.js
• Distributed systems
• AI/ML or data-driven systems
• Previous Technical Lead or line management experience
