About the Position
As Technical Art Director for Central Techart, you will lead the future of our content tech art and the pipelines that support it. You set clear structure, stable expectations, and conditions where technical artists can grow and deliver at high standards.
You own studio-wide content pipelines, the art tool ecosystem, and the systems that keep asset creation efficient, scalable, and consistent across all projects in Unreal Engine 5. You set the roadmap, define standards, and guide a multidisciplinary team toward reliable production.
We look for a Pipeline champion and a Leader of Leaders.
Responsibilities
- Roadmaps and Architecture: Define the long-term content pipeline roadmap with Techart, Tech, and project Technical Directors. Set clear architecture principles and adoption rules.
- Pipelines and Tools: Own and evolve UE5 workflows and toolsets. Reduce manual work and protect creative intent while meeting technical limits.
- Cross Functional Integration: Connect Central Techart with Tech, Render, and Art. Align requirements and dependencies early so teams execute with clarity.
- Performance Governance: Define budgets and technical standards with Tech and Render. Ensure teams apply them across projects. Embed validation in pipelines.
- Team Leadership: Give clear expectations, stable support, and structured growth. Use 1 on 1s, documented goals, and predictable leadership to help the team deliver.
- Innovation and R&D: Track useful technology shifts. Encourage safe experimentation. Turn findings into practical pipeline improvements.
Requirements
- Experience as Technical Art Director or Tech Art Lead.
- Strong mentoring background.
- Expert Unreal Engine knowledge.
- Deep understanding of AAA content pipelines and automation.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to convert studio goals into clear action.
Tasks
- Build and maintain the Central Techart roadmap.
- Identify gaps and co-create improvements with the team.
- Run consistent 1 on 1s and support career development.
- Define tool and pipeline requirements with project and Tech leadership.
- Oversee tool development from concept to support.
- Set standards for performance and technical quality.
- Report progress and R&D findings to leadership.
Nice to Have
- Experience with UE5 plugins or tools.
- Python or C++.
- Experience building a service team.
- Portfolio of pipeline and tool improvements.
