About the Position

Thoughtworks is seeking a Technical Principal to lead technical programs, drive AI-first software delivery, and provide strategic leadership in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Responsibilities

Champion and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming, and design patterns.
Exemplify Thoughtworks’ technical excellence, thought leadership, and capabilities to clients and within Thoughtworks.
Drive the highest level of AI-first software delivery (AIFSD) adoption across accounts.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients by building key relationships and understanding market trends.
Assess client needs and develop account strategies and proactive proposals to deliver value.
Communicate the value of Thoughtworks’ delivery and how it maps to client vision, goals, and initiatives.
Ensure the high performance of Thoughtworks teams on the account and proactively manage risk with clients.
Cultivate Thoughtworker growth and development by encouraging feedback and fostering an inclusive, supportive team culture.
Ensure security, privacy, and legal compliance across the account.

Requirements

Technical Skills

Strong full-stack engineering experience across modern technology stacks, including JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, Vue.js, Node.js, Java (Spring Boot), Python, PHP, React Native, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Git, GitHub, and AWS.
Experience or interest in modern AI-driven engineering practices, including AI-assisted software development tools and emerging Agentic AI frameworks.
Substantial engineering experience building and delivering large and complex enterprise-wide solutions.
Experience with account management, third-party contractual agreements, client management, pre-sales, client reporting, and up-selling.
Comfortable chairing meetings, conducting reports, providing technical sales support, and keeping budgets in check.
Comfortable helping delivery teams whenever needed.
Knowledgeable about delivery approaches such as TDD, continuous integration, pairing, and infrastructure automation.
Experience in coaching and growing tech leads and engineers, coordination of thought leadership activities.
