About Us

Helsing is a leading artificial intelligence company for defense. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aspire to technological leadership so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.

As democracies, we believe that we have a special responsibility when developing and deploying technologies as powerful as AI. We take that responsibility seriously.

We are an ambitious and committed engineering team, AI specialists, and program managers in contact with clients. We are looking for people motivated by the mission to join our European teams and apply their skills to the most complex and impactful problems. We foster an open and transparent culture that welcomes the debate on the use of technology in defense, its benefits, and its ethical implications.

Responsibilities

As a Mecatronic Technician, you will build our robotic systems, from components to validated units. You will assemble electromechanical assemblies, manufacture wiring according to specifications, modify electronic boards, and perform the first validation with our automatic tools. When a system fails, you will diagnose the fault and repair it. You will also shape how we manufacture: propose improvements in assembly and validation processes, design new tools, and maintain reliable stock and quality control as production grows. Your work sets the standard for each robot that leaves our laboratory and reaches those who depend on it.

Daily Tasks

  • Assembly of complete robots and electromechanical assemblies according to specifications, taking each unit from components to the validated team
  • Manufacturing wiring, modifying electronic boards, and preparing mechanical and electronic validation setups for engineering teams
  • First validation of each robot with our automatic tools, and diagnosing and repairing faults so that units are delivered on time
  • Proposing improvements to assembly and validation processes, and proposing new tools that reduce manufacturing time and rework
  • Managing stock and inventory in our ERP, and performing quality control on order reception so that production never stops due to lack of material or defective parts

Requirements

  • Experience working in an electromechanics laboratory with complex electromechanical systems, or equivalent practical experience
  • Vocational or bachelor's degree in electromechanics, electronics, or similar technical training
  • Advanced handling of laboratory materials, including soldering, solder paste, heat gun, and cable manufacturing, and knowledge of electronics fundamentals
  • Methodical work based on documentation, such as manufacturing wiring from definitions, and assembling mechanical components like bearings and motors
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Proficiency with computers, Excel, and stock management tools (ERP)
  • Work permit for the EU

Note: We work in a sector where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically underrepresented. We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all the listed requirements; ability and impact are not summarized in a few points.

Nice to Have

  • Experience assembling, validating, or repairing robots
  • Experience reworking electronic boards from a detailed change document
  • Experience defining simple circuits for test benches

We Offer

  • Competitive salary and VSOP options
  • Relocation support: up to €2,500 and 4 weeks of temporary accommodation
  • Training: €500/£450 annual budget
  • Health and wellness: gym membership and mental health support (Nilo.health)
  • Social life: periodic company events and monthly allowance for social activities
  • Extended parental leave: 22 fully paid weeks for primary caregivers and 6 weeks for secondary caregivers
  • Family support: 5 days of paid leave for family emergencies, option to work 100% remotely during pregnancy, and phased return
