About the Position
Temp Research Associate, Translational Medicine
We’re seeking a Research Associate, Translational Medicine for our well-known client based in Redwood City, CA. The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting Translational Medicine by developing and implementing biomarker and/or Companion Diagnostic (CDx) strategies for RAS(ON) inhibitor clinical trials. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and innovative environment while contributing to multiple ongoing clinical studies.
Responsibilities
- Partner with CDx Leads, Clinical Biomarker Leads, Biomarker Scientists, and broader Translational Medicine team members to support the execution of CDx and biomarker strategies, including clinical trial sample testing.
- Perform detailed reviews of clinically relevant documents to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with study protocols for RAS(ON) inhibitor clinical trials.
- Conduct data review, reconciliation, and quality control for genomic and biomarker data generated in clinical studies, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with source records, laboratory outputs, and protocol requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in cancer biology, cell or molecular biology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience with an MS degree or 3 years with a BS degree in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or IVD diagnostic company.
- Strong coordination skills with cross-functional study teams and CRO partners.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and effective time management with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in quality control of scientific data.
- Ability to thrive in detail-oriented work within fast-paced, team-based environments.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge or experience in oncology drug development and precision medicine.
- Familiarity with clinically relevant biomarker technologies across platforms such as NGS and qPCR/ddPCR.
- Understanding of clinical trial design and biomarker integration.
- Understanding of CDx development and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EU-IVDR).
