About the Position
We are seeking a Test Engineer in the Geology Domain to join our team, focusing on the testing of software systems in the Oil & Gas production industry. Our technology solution enables geologists and geophysicists to efficiently research, visualize, and interpret large volumes of geological data.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support in the drilling and completions area to the DWP team.
- Provide an objective assessment of product quality.
- Contribute as an active Software Tester on the team to deliver product stories.
- Develop Test Cases based on Test Objectives and Acceptance Criteria.
- Write comprehensive Test Cases to verify product functionality.
- Contribute during Sprint Planning to ensure all testing concerns are discussed and accommodated in the story sizing.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts to identify and define key end-user workflows.
- Define, create, and maintain test environments.
- Validate functionality according to requirements/stories.
- Verify that development changes have no undesired effect on other, associated areas of functionality.
- Identify, communicate, and document bugs in a consistent fashion.
- Track bugs through resolution and implementation.
- Verify that bugs are resolved according to the bug definition.
Requirements
Must have:
- Bachelor or Master Degree from a recognized university in petroleum, Geophysics, Geology, or chemical engineering with a minimum GPA of 7.5 and above.
- Good understanding of upstream applications (Preferred: EDT Applications).
- Knowledge of one or more basic wells engineering concepts including:
- Well construction – drilling techniques, well control, fluids property management, drilling mechanics, performance monitoring.
- Well completions – completion designs, well performance analysis.
- Experience with engineering applications such as WellCat, Wellplan, Compass will be an advantage.
- Comfortable with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with web applications test automation, API testing, performance testing, Azure/AWS cloud services.
- QA experience (Experience with Oil and Gas Upstream applications preferred).
- Experience with SDLC/STLC processes and a complete understanding of various testing types such as Smoke, Functional, Integration, Performance, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing.
- ISTQB foundation level certified (Optional).
- Well versed with Test Case creation, Defect, and Test Management tools (Azure DevOps/TFS, JIRA).
- Basic understanding of framework creation using any automation tool.
