About the Position

We are looking for a Test Engineer (m/f/d) to join Tieto Tech Consulting in Graz, Austria. If you enjoy exploring how systems behave, turning findings into improvements, and combining manual testing with automation, you can help us build digital solutions people can rely on.

Responsibilities

When joining Tieto Tech Consulting as a Test Engineer, you will:

• Design, perform, and document manual tests with a clear focus on user needs and software quality
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated end-to-end tests across system and interface boundaries
• Carry out interface and API tests and translate findings into clear, actionable insights
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and contribute to reliable delivery processes
• Explore meaningful uses of AI in testing

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in software testing (manual and automated)
• An ISTQB Foundation Level certification; ISTQB Advanced Level is an advantage
• A structured and precise approach, combined with initiative, ownership, and a pragmatic hands-on mindset
• Experience with performance and load testing as well as container and cloud environments (OpenShift, Azure)
• Experience with testing of event streams including message validation, producers/consumers, ordering, and idempotency as well as non-functional testing: failover & disaster scenarios, monitoring & alerting verification
• Test Environment Management & Service Virtualization (Mocking, Stubbing)
• Excellent German skills at C1 level for customer and team communication
• Curiosity about technology and a genuine enthusiasm for testing

The monthly gross salary for this full-time position starts at EUR 3.954,00 in accordance with the Austrian IT collective agreement (ST1 “Regelstufe”). The final package will reflect your qualifications, relevant experience, and current market standards.
