Job Information

Tradition and Innovation

Since 1919, the AKG Gruppe has been a specialist in the field of heat transfer. With more than 3,000 employees at 14 locations in Europe, America, and Asia, we develop and produce high-quality components and systems for a wide range of applications and industries.

Responsibilities

The two-year trainee program combines a broad, cross-departmental training with the opportunity to gain know-how and practical experience in the areas of production planning and manufacturing. It is divided into the three sections mentioned below.

  1. Overview (approx. 4 weeks):

Your mentor, who will accompany you throughout the trainee period, as well as selected managers and specialists of AKG at the Hofgeismar site, will give you an initial overview of the goals, organization, processes, and relationships of the individual departments.

By gathering information and structuring it, you contribute to a solid overview of your future working environment.

  2. Cross-departmental Training (approx. 12 months):

Taking into account your existing qualifications and the expected future area of deployment, you will get to know various departments through multi-day or multi-week assignments. The departments

  • Production
  • Production Planning (Manufacturing Engineering)
  • Prototype Construction
  • Quality Management
  • SCM / Logistics
  • Research and Development
  • Product Development and Innovation/New Products
  • Design
  • Purchasing

are part of the standard repertoire.

In parallel, you will take on initial tasks and projects within your expected future focus area. In addition to the necessary technical knowledge for efficient cooperation with other departments, you will build your personal network within the company during this time.

  1. Focus Area:
In this phase, you will concentrate on deepening your knowledge in the field of production management and take responsibility for your own projects.

In parallel, you will be trained in the use of core competencies used at AKG (SAP, 5S, etc.).

Taking into account your qualifications and current projects, we also plan a multi-week assignment in one of the foreign companies of the AKG Group.

Requirements

  • Successful degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical field
