Unit Plant Manager

About the Position

We are looking for a Unit Plant Manager to join our team in Toano, VA. As a Unit Plant Manager for O-I, you will manage the total operation of the production lines of an assigned furnace on a 24-hour / 7-day a week basis through the line management system and continuous shift operation to maximize production performance within established safety, quality, and cost parameters.

Responsibilities

• Drive the plant furnace to achieve key performance goals (Safety, Quality, Total Best Cost, Productivity, and Flexibility)
• Promote a Manufacturing Excellence culture and continuous improvement
• Conduct production meetings and sponsor morning TPC meetings
• Lead and manage projects
• Successfully meet plant KPIs

Requirements

• MUST HAVE: Glass Plant Manufacturing Management Experience
• Proven management and continuous improvement skills
• Ability to collaborate with team members and support employee engagement
• Coaching & mentoring skills and the ability to handle personnel issues
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Adequate knowledge of informational systems & ability to analyze data
• Experience working in the Glass Manufacturing Industry
• Preferred: Cold End Experience

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Production or Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or other related disciplines
• Experience supervising/leading people and processes in manufacturing
• Glass industry experience required

• Salary Range: Between $120,000 - $130,000 per year and includes a possible 15% short-term incentive bonus
