About the Position
We are seeking a passionate Unreal Engine / C++ Engineer to join the core team behind our virtual production studios in Riga, Latvia! Instead of working on individual games, you'll build and maintain the shared C++ foundations, plugins, and components used across all our projects, and drive the research and development that improves our services as a whole.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain shared C++ plugins, components, and actors used across all our games;
- Work with other teams to improve server setups and the communication between our applications and backend services;
- Collaborate with game artists to support their work and improve shared tooling and workflows;
- Drive R&D efforts to improve our services and technology overall;
- Maintain and support existing projects.
Requirements
- Passion for software development – we expect you to like to write and maintain code;
- Strong knowledge of C/C++ and Object-Oriented Programming;
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5, with a strong emphasis on C++ over Blueprints;
- Experience with Git;
- Be ready to invest the effort to become an even better developer;
- Experience building reusable, maintainable code intended for use across multiple projects.
Nice to Have
- Unit testing and automated testing experience with Unreal Engine;
- Experience with communication protocols (HTTP / Web Sockets);
- Excellent math skills including geometric modeling & linear algebra;
- Experience designing plugins or shared libraries for a team or organization;
- Experience with the visual side of real-time 3D, such as materials, animations, lighting, and visual optimizations.
