About the Position

Upstream Production Chemist I

Join LGC Standards in Manchester, NH, where you'll produce analytical reference standards in a clean and safe lab environment. Our standards are used for various analytical techniques, and we are ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and ISO 17034 accredited.

Responsibilities

• Embody the LGC core values and work collaboratively within a team.
• Prepare stock and custom bulks per Quality System Procedures and maintain lab stock and warehouse inventory using the ERP system.
• Follow standard operating procedures and set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Verify calibration of balances, volumetrics, and other laboratory equipment.
• Demonstrate consistent, reliable performance and work effectively as part of a team.
• Exhibit organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Keep workspace clean to minimize hazards and contamination.
• Meet production goals and maintain the ability to problem solve and apply retained knowledge.
• Adhere to company Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned by management.

Requirements

• Essential Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Two years experience in the production lab or two-year degree in science or another technical field.
  • High School Diploma, GED, related experience/training, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient in internet-based application programs.

• Desired Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in science or another technical field preferred.
  • Advanced experience utilizing Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word and the currently used ERP system.
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting, including ability to create and follow standard operating procedures.
