We are seeking a VAT Accountant to ensure complete, timely, and correct maintenance of the company’s VAT accounting - from determining tax liabilities and tax credit to registering tax invoices/adjustment calculations and submitting reports - while minimizing tax risks and ensuring compliance with legislation.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining VAT tax accounting;
• Monitoring the correctness of determining tax liabilities and tax credit;
• Preparing and registering tax invoices/adjustment calculations in the Unified Register of Tax Invoices (ERPN);
• Monitoring the timeliness and completeness of registration of incoming tax invoices/adjustment calculations;
• Monitoring the first event and the consistency of tax invoices/adjustment calculations with primary documents and accounting data;
• Monitoring the correct application of VAT rates and tax benefits;
• Accounting for and monitoring import operations, including the application of benefits during customs clearance;
• Determining and recording VAT consequences of transactions with non-residents;
• Reconciling ERPN data with accounting records and handling discrepancies;
• Preparing the VAT return;
• Monitoring VAT SEA indicators and the electronic VAT account;
• Handling suspended tax invoices/adjustment calculations, preparing documents and explanations to unblock them;
• Participating in closing the reporting period and monitoring the correctness of VAT accounting.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a similar position
• Practical experience independently managing the VAT area;
• Knowledge of tax legislation regarding VAT;
• Practical experience with transactions under various VAT taxation regimes;
• Experience with import operations, including the application of tax/customs benefits;
• Experience determining VAT consequences of transactions with non-residents;
• Experience preparing VAT returns;
• Experience with BAS/1C, Medoc, or similar systems.
