Role Overview
As a Vulnerability Engineer within our Security Operations Center (SOC), you will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks across our IT and OT environments. You will collaborate with SOC analysts, threat hunters, and system owners to maintain a strong security posture and proactively defend against emerging threats.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the organization’s vulnerability management program.
- Perform vulnerability scanning, analysis, and prioritization of remediation activities.
- Collaborate with IT, OT, and application teams to validate findings and ensure timely remediation.
- Integrate vulnerability data with SIEM and other SOC tools to enhance threat visibility.
- Conduct security assessments and provide technical guidance on mitigation strategies.
- Monitor emerging vulnerabilities and coordinate rapid response for critical issues.
- Support continuous improvement of vulnerability management processes, tooling, and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in vulnerability management, SOC operations, or similar cybersecurity roles.
- Strong understanding of network and system security fundamentals.
- Experience with tools such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or OpenVAS.
- Familiarity with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar).
- Knowledge of CVSS scoring, patch management processes, and security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Understanding of industrial or critical infrastructure environments (OT/ICS) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, GIAC, CISSP) are desirable.
