Vulnerability Engineer – Security Operations Center

Role Overview

As a Vulnerability Engineer within our Security Operations Center (SOC), you will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks across our IT and OT environments. You will collaborate with SOC analysts, threat hunters, and system owners to maintain a strong security posture and proactively defend against emerging threats.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the organization’s vulnerability management program.
• Perform vulnerability scanning, analysis, and prioritization of remediation activities.
• Collaborate with IT, OT, and application teams to validate findings and ensure timely remediation.
• Integrate vulnerability data with SIEM and other SOC tools to enhance threat visibility.
• Conduct security assessments and provide technical guidance on mitigation strategies.
• Monitor emerging vulnerabilities and coordinate rapid response for critical issues.
• Support continuous improvement of vulnerability management processes, tooling, and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in vulnerability management, SOC operations, or similar cybersecurity roles.
• Strong understanding of network and system security fundamentals.
• Experience with tools such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or OpenVAS.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar).
• Knowledge of CVSS scoring, patch management processes, and security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.).
• Understanding of industrial or critical infrastructure environments (OT/ICS) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, GIAC, CISSP) are desirable.
