About the Position

Working Student - 3D Printing Area (Prototyping Lab) (m/f/d)

Join TYTAN Technologies GmbH in Munich, Germany, as a Working Student in our 3D Printing Area (Prototyping Lab). Contribute to our mission of setting a global standard in autonomous air defense with AI-driven, cost-efficient systems that counter unmanned aerial threats at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Print Requests: Take requests from engineering, clarify material, tolerances, quantity, and deadline, and provide feedback on printability.
  • Print Preparation: Prepare and slice models for FDM and resin printers, choosing settings, orientation, and supports for each part.
  • Capacity Planning: Plan and track capacity across around 30 printers, prioritize competing requests, and keep requesters updated on status.
  • Maintenance: Carry out routine and preventive maintenance, including nozzle and hot end changes, calibration, cleaning, belt and bed checks, firmware updates, and resin tank care.
  • Supplier Repairs: Organize service jobs with suppliers for repairs beyond in-house maintenance and follow them up until each printer is back in operation.
  • Lab Organisation: Keep the 3D Printing Area clean, safe, and organized, including filament and resin stock, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Continuous Improvement: Improve workflows, storage, labeling, documentation, and request tracking to make the area work better.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at a university, ideally in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, product design, aerospace, or a related field.
  • A real passion for 3D printing: you print in your free time, tinker with your own machines, or follow the community.
  • Hands-on experience with FDM printers, ideally Prusa (CORE ONE L) and Bambu Lab (X1 Carbon, X1E, H2D, H2S, AMS).
  • Confident with slicers such as PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, or OrcaSlicer.
  • Very organized: you can plan, prioritize, and track many requests at once without losing the overview.
  • Clear communicator in English. German is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Formlabs resin printers and PreForm, including post-processing (washing, curing).
  • Basic CAD skills to make small fixes to models before printing.
  • Knowledge of engineering materials (PLA, PETG, ASA, PA-CF, and similar) and when to use them.
  • Experience with print farm or queue management tools.

We Offer

  • Monthly Allowances: €68/month in flexible benefits including lunch discounts and EGYM Wellpass or shopping credit.
  • Regular Health Care Events: Health check-ups, skin screenings, mental health workshops, and an annual vitamin infusion on us.
  • Referral Bonus: Earn a reward when someone you refer joins the team.
  • Regular Team Events: On- and off-site activities to connect and celebrate together.
  • Corporate Discounts: Exclusive employee discounts across a wide range of partner brands.
  • Flexibility: Flexible working hours and hybrid work model, plus a modern Munich office built for focus and collaboration.
