About MATVIS

MATVIS secures AI agents. We inspect traffic inline, on any model and any infrastructure, and stop prompt injection, PII leakage, data exfiltration and shadow AI before they reach anything that matters. Model-agnostic, ISO 27001 certified, and deployed inside our customers‘ own environments so their data never leaves. Founded in Tübingen in 2023.

Your Role

As a working student in our engineering team, you will:

• Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs for our AI security product.
• Support our ML Lead with data pipelines, dataset preparation, and evaluation.
• Run benchmarks on detection rate, false positive rate and latency, and help improve all three.
• Write tests, fix bugs and keep our CI/CD pipelines in shape.
• Ship containerized services into Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Pick up whatever needs building that week. Real tickets, real code, no busywork.

Must Have

• Enrolled at a German university in computer science, machine learning, data science or a related field, with at least two semesters left.
• Able to work on-site in Tübingen.
• Available 20 hours per week during the semester.
• Solid Python. You have written code beyond course assignments.
• Comfortable with Git and the Linux command line.
• A proactive, independent way of working. You ask when stuck and ship when done.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Docker, REST APIs, SQL.
• PyTorch or another ML framework.
• Interest in security: CTFs, pentesting, red teaming or adversarial ML.
• German.
