2026_MS_EMT1_VM_Senior VS Code Extension Developer (TypeScript | DevOps | CI/CD | Kubernetes)

Bosch Global Software Technologies Private Limited, a 100% owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, is seeking an experienced Senior VS Code Developer to join our team in Bangalore, India. With over 27,000+ associates, we are the largest software development center of Bosch outside Germany, recognized as the Technology Powerhouse of Bosch in India.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Visual Studio Code extensions and plugins.
• Build custom developer productivity tools and workflows within VS Code.
• Develop extension features using TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js.
• Integrate VS Code extensions with REST APIs, backend services, AI services, and developer tools.
• Optimize extension performance, scalability, and user experience.
• Build automated CI/CD pipelines for extension development and deployment.
• Containerize applications using Docker and manage deployments using Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate build, release, and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to extensions, debugging, and developer environments.
• Implement unit testing, integration testing, and code quality best practices.
• Work closely with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver enterprise-grade developer tools.
• Document architecture, APIs, and development guidelines.

Requirements

Core Skills

• 6–8 years of software development experience
• Strong expertise in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
• Strong experience with Node.js
• Hands-on experience developing Visual Studio Code Extensions
• Strong understanding of VS Code Extension API
• Experience with Language Server Protocol (LSP)
• Experience with Debug Adapter Protocol (DAP)
• Strong knowledge of Git and version control workflows
• CI/CD pipeline development using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
• Docker containerization
• Kubernetes deployment and management
• Infrastructure automation
• Linux environment and shell scripting
• REST API integration
• Authentication (OAuth, JWT)
• Microservices architecture
• Unit testing (Jest, Mocha)
• Performance optimization
• Design patterns and clean architecture

Preferred (.NET)

• Experience with C# and.NET 6/7/8
• ASP.NET Core Web API development
• Building developer tools for.NET applications
• Integration with the.NET CLI, MSBuild, or Roslyn
• Experience with NuGet package management

Good to Have

• Azure or AWS cloud experience
• AI-assisted development tools
• Experience integrating with GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, or other LLM APIs
• Electron application development
• YAML configuration
• Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
• Security best practices for extensions
• Experience publishing extensions to the VS Code Marketplace

Required Competencies

• Experience with AI-powered coding assistants
• Open-source contributions are a plus
