About the Position

Abschlussarbeit im Bereich System Integration (m/w/d)

Location: Leonberg / Germany | Company: Knorr-Bremse Systeme für Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH | Job ID: 11641 | Type: Full-time | Duration: Fixed-term

Join Knorr-Bremse in Leonberg for a system integration internship focusing on electronic brake systems. This role involves enabling early system-level testing through the use of test benches that simulate the pneumatic subsystems of the brake system, either with a simplified physical setup or virtually. To accurately replicate the electro-pneumatic control loop on the test bench, the behavior of the system from the brake pedal to the brake disc must be verified in detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a device that allows for the measurement of the force-displacement behavior of commercial vehicle brakes both in the vehicle and on the test bench.
  • Create and evaluate various concepts for the measuring device and measurement principles.
  • Design a selected concept and implement it as a prototype.
  • Develop a valid concept, thereby creating the foundation for further comparative studies between the vehicle and the test bench.
  • Conduct literature research and familiarize yourself with the measurement principles and functions of the commercial vehicle brake in the brake cylinder/caliper area.
  • Analyze the interfaces and select and implement the measurement principles for force and displacement.
  • Design a prototype for the interfaces.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable field.
  • Excellent German and English language skills.
  • Interest in commercial vehicles, model building, and design.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Independent and responsible work approach.

We Offer

  • Join a team of around 32,000 employees worldwide.
  • Engage in technological excellence, sustainable business practices, and social responsibility.
  • Recent revenue of 7.9 billion Euros.
  • A responsible and varied role in an international environment.
  • Attractive benefits package including flexible working hours, sabbatical, and remote work options.
  • Opportunity to work up to twenty days per year from outside the EU.
  • Numerous further training opportunities to support your professional and personal development.
  • Various additional benefits such as holiday and Christmas bonuses, canteen use, sports and health programs, corporate volunteering, business bike, and more.
  • Experience our inspiring team spirit in the international development network.
  • Shape the future of mobility with us!
