AI & LLM Engineer (Liberate)

About the Position

We are looking for an AI & LLM Engineer to join Liberate, a company dedicated to revolutionizing the real estate market through technology. If you are passionate about ensuring that AI systems work reliably and improve over time, this role is for you. You will be part of a team that values evaluation and data-centric methods above all else.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability and improvement of our AI stack.
• Work directly with the founding team, product, engineering, and agents to understand product needs and areas for improvement.
• Own the full loop: measurement, labelling, building, and system improvement.
• Design evaluation for production systems, including metrics, agreement, significance, and consistency.
• Build and validate labelled datasets, scaling labelling beyond manual effort.
• Architect, build, and operate end-to-end production LLM systems and agentic loops.
• Raise the level of strong engineers who are newer to this space.
• Reason from first principles rather than defaulting to the popular approach.
• Communicate technical and statistical ideas clearly.

Requirements

• Strong grounding in applied machine learning, with real depth in evaluation and data-centric methods.
• Experience designing evaluation for production systems.
• Experience building and validating labelled datasets.
• Hands-on experience with production LLM systems and agentic loops.
• Sound judgment on where to use a large model, a smaller fine-tuned model, or deterministic logic.
• Experience taking systems from prototype to production, with attention to reliability, latency, and cost.
• Ability to reason from first principles rather than defaulting to the popular approach.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• A level of rigor and curiosity that raises the bar for everyone around you.
