Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are looking for an Analyst/ Associate, Corporate Finance to join our team at ING Bank in Hong Kong SAR. This role involves assisting in the origination and execution of M&A advisory transactions, providing financial analysis, and supporting deal execution processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting VPs, Directors, and Managing Directors in the origination and execution of M&A advisory transactions.
  • Assisting in M&A deal origination, including drafting marketing materials, detailed equity/debt analysis, and market research.
  • Assisting in M&A deal execution, which includes valuation, pricing, financial analysis, transaction administration, and deal documentation.
  • Liaising with colleagues in other product teams to deliver integrated solutions to ING’s clients.
  • Monitoring relevant market information and collecting market data and dynamics in support of teams.
  • Assisting teams in maintaining relevant databases, filing systems, and presentation templates.
  • Building knowledge of the activities and personnel of key clients, equity, and debt products available in the market.
  • Maintaining familiarity with and strictly following internal and relevant regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Helping train and develop skills of junior bankers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Advanced Mathematics with excellent results. Relevant professional qualifications, such as a CFA or MBA, would be an advantage.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience for Analyst-level candidates; 4 years of relevant experience for Associate-level candidates in mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, strategic advisory, valuation, corporate finance, or a similar role within the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, methodical and meticulous with competencies to perform financial modelling and financial analysis.
  • Self-motivated individual and confident team player with a high degree of initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work under tight timelines within a team setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
