About the Position
We are seeking an Anti Money Laundering Analyst for a contract role in New York City, NY. This position involves leading customer due diligence and risk assessments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and periodic due diligence reviews for third-party payment partners.
- Assess partner risk using CDD information and identify financial crime, sanctions, regulatory, and reputational risk triggers.
- Recommend appropriate risk mitigation actions and ensure decisions are clearly documented and evidenced.
- Partner with Compliance and Financial Crime SMEs to resolve complex risk matters and ensure timely reviews.
- Liaise with external partners to obtain required documentation and drive timely, accurate responses.
- Work closely with Business Development and Partner Management teams to ensure consistent and high-quality due diligence.
- Maintain clear audit trails covering activities performed, decisions made, and supporting rationale.
- Communicate requirements, deadlines, and potential consequences clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in CDD/KYC, AML, or Compliance within regulated financial services.
- Strong knowledge of FATF, JMLSG, sanctions screening, monitoring, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience in risk assessment, due diligence execution, and risk mitigation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority and work independently under strict deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including PowerPoint presentation capability.
Nice to Have
- University degree or equivalent.
- Experience with LexisNexis Bankers Almanac and/or Dow Jones.
- CAMS, ICA, or equivalent certification.
