About the Position
Application Engineer
You will join a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern enterprise applications and APIs across a diverse technology landscape. The role combines backend engineering, observability, automation, and web application hosting, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs using Python and relevant frameworks
- Develop and maintain backend services using Java and.NET technologies
- Create, optimize, and manage SQL databases, queries, and data models
- Automate infrastructure and deployment processes using Ansible
- Implement and configure OpenTelemetry for application observability
- Instrument applications to collect traces, metrics, and logs
- Integrate telemetry data with monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration of backend services
- Contribute to the design and implementation of user-facing features
- Configure and manage IIS environments for web application hosting
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of hosted applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full technology stack
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Follow best practices related to version control, testing, and deployment
- Work closely with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver business solutions
Requirements
- Strong experience with Python development
- Strong experience with Java development
- Strong experience with .NET development
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
- Advanced SQL and database management skills
- Hands-on experience with Ansible automation
- Practical experience with OpenTelemetry
- Experience collecting and analyzing traces, metrics, and logs
- Experience managing web applications using IIS
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of software development best practices
Nice to Have
- Experience with Prometheus
- Experience with Grafana
- Experience with Splunk
- Experience working in DevOps environments
- Experience collaborating with SRE teams
- Frontend development experience
