About the Position

Assistant Manager Accounting

Talabat, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager Accounting to join our team in Berlin, Germany. As an Assistant Manager Accounting, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations and ensuring compliance with governmental laws and tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Leading, Hiring, and Supervising Accounting Staff
• Reviewing Sales Reconciliation
• Reviewing Credit Applications/Contracts
• Monitoring Daily/Monthly Cashflow
• Reviewing Cash Flow Forecast
• Monitoring Revenue & Expenses
• Reviewing Payments to Trading & Non-Trading Suppliers
• Reviewing VAT & WHT Monthly Reports
• Reviewing Balance Sheet and General Ledger Accounts
• Reviewing Monthly Closing Package
• Analyzing Accounts Receivables Bad Debt
• Confirming Payments to Vendors
• Validating Payroll Entries
• Validating Cash & Bank Reconciliation
• Validating Recorded Invoices on Accounting System
• Validating Accrued & Prepaid Expenses on Accounting System
• Validating Depreciation & Amortization on Accounting System
• Validating Lease IFRS16
• Validating Marketing Expenses
• Reviewing and Posting Monthly Recurring Entries
• Reviewing and Confirming Monthly Trial Balance Closure
• Performing and Overseeing Internal/External Audits
• Setting Up and Monitoring Accounting KPIs
• Assisting Planning Team with Annual Budgeting
• Analyzing the P&L for Cost Cutting & Profit Maximizing Opportunities
• Suggesting Recommendations to Business Stakeholders
• Ensuring Compliance with Governmental Law and Tax

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting.
• Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or Assistant Manager capacity (E-commerce, Retail, or FMCG).
• Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in MSD or similar ERP, Excel, Power Query, and a working knowledge of IFRS 16.
  • Proven experience in managing Big 4 audits and tax inspections.
  • Exceptional communication skills for dealing with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure during tight closing windows.
